The Nuts and Bolts: From Start to Finish
Why is Tría web-based and not a downloadable app? Studies have shown that apps lose 20% of their users when any additional step is added between the download time and the first use of the app.
At Tría, our platform uses what is known as a Progressive Web Application (PWA). PWAs behave very much like a normal or “native” app—except you don’t need to download them. And they are accessible from any device or browser. This makes it easy to sign in, because all you and your customers have to do is save the link directly to your mobile device’s home screen. This will keep your customers directly connected to your restaurant—instead of third-party delivery companies.
This is crucial, because those third-party delivery companies do not advertise for you. No, instead they get paid to advertise other big-chain restaurants within your vicinity. Then they charge you, so you will get better visibility on their app. They do this on their platform, because it creates an incentive for users—otherwise known as your customers—to order from your competitor. Because of this common practice, Tría has taken a completely different approach. When we built our online ordering platform, we wanted to guarantee that our restaurant owners and managers had easy access to their patrons.

Access to Customers’ Information
Tría gives you full access to your complete customer list. This is vital, because it allows you to export your customer’s contact information, phone number, and email address. This, in turn, lets you capitalize on many marketing strategies.
SMS and Email Marketing
Unveiling our latest features, which are coming soon to a Tría platform near you, are SMS and email marketing. Third-party applications not only keep your customers—literally taking them from you—they also directly market your clients to your competitors. This essentially leaves you with no customer list, no marketing platform, and no other option. All you can really do is give them more money to advertise on their app.
And that’s exactly why we have given you the ability to communicate directly from Tría’s platform, to the palm of your customer’s hand! That’s right, whether it’s a new menu item, a daily special, or a coupon, all your customers need to do is simply click on the link you provide. This lets them immediately place their order through your menu link. It also saves time, because they don’t have to leave the text or email message to do so.
Curbside
We know the importance of off-premise ordering, especially curbside orders. For example, our system allows you to set up curbside instructions for your customers, You can notify them to text or call you when they arrive, or to park at a specific location.
Delivery
With the Tría app, we’ve given you the ability to select how close (or far) your drivers will go (the delivery range, in terms of city blocks or miles), how much the order costs (including delivery fees and tips), and even the estimated delivery time. Once you input these details, your customers simply choose “Delivery” and their meal will soon be on its way. In addition, our preorder feature lets your customers place an order in advance, at a desired time, and on a specific day. The next section further explains this unique feature.
How Orders Work
We can’t emphasize enough how important it is for you to take back the reins on your business, brand, and reputation. One way to do this is to control your store hours, and the types of service you let your customers choose (curbside, delivery, etc.). With the Tría app, you won’t have to get in line and wait for a customer service representative to handle simple tasks—as happens with third-party delivery services. No, Tría makes your day-to-day operations much easier, and much faster: you simply log in, go into your store’s settings, and make the needed changes there. You can provide your customers with a way to preorder. Then they can order ahead, and schedule a delivery time for the following day. Preorders can be set up for a few hours to even a year in advance!
The order section also grants you full access to customer refunds, either partial or full refunds, at any time. That’s right, you won’t waste any more of your valuable time (which can often be quite significant) waiting for a third-party delivery’s customer service to refund your customer’s order! Not only do you have access to refunds, but because your customers’ contact information is contained within every order—you can also easily find their number and call them if, for example, you need to substitute an ingredient, or suggest a replacement side dish, dessert, etc., when your restaurant has run out of these food items. Best of all, this can all be accomplished from your mobile phone!
And when a customer places an order, you will receive a notification via email, text message, or a printed copy from the Tría printer. Or perhaps you want to use all three, NO problem! Turning on the text or email feature is simple and within your control. And what if you have dedicated, trustworthy staff members who handle your online orders? The Tría app gives them their own login, and the ability to receive texts or email notices. No more getting constant notifications, which you can’t control, from third-party delivery apps. And on your days off, you can simply turn off notifications within the “Employees” tab. After all, you deserve a break, too!
Now let’s look at two other ways you can receive order notifications. First, orders can be directly sent to a kitchen-sized, cloud-based printer. We provide this printer, which comes plug-in ready and preloaded with printer paper. Tría even takes care of configuring your printer for you, since this task is often quite tedious.
The final way to know you have an incoming order is through a standard sound notification. It will sound when you are logged in and on the “Orders” tab. This notification feature is easily accessible within your store settings. You can even upload a preferred sound as your own unique alert, which you will hear every time a new order comes through. A dedicated “Sound” tab in your store settings let you do this.
Menu
At Tría we also empower you to update your menu and other restaurant features. You have full access to your menu so you can do what you want, when you want. Need to update pricing? Hide an out-of-stock item? Change an item’s modifier? Just click on the app from your mobile phone, and you have full access to do all this and more. No more being held hostage to third-party delivery companies that manage your menu and prices.
If you’re unfamiliar with a modifier, it’s a selectable element within an item. For example, it could be a sandwich topping or the number of wings a customer wants to order. Coupons and Loyalty
To begin the discussion about coupons and loyalty we want to share an important statistic concerning customer loyalty rewards: Did you know that when customers are close to reaching their loyalty reward, they spend, on average, 39% more? And when they redeem their rewards, they usually spend 19% more? In fact, returning customers spend 67% more than new customers.
This is important because you can leverage those spending habits to your advantage—while still ensuring your customers walk away happy. How? Well, our loyalty program lets you select the point system you provide your customers. This can be set up at any time within your store settings. Once this valuable feature is turned on, you have access within your menu to then attach loyalty points to certain items. You even choose the number of points needed to redeem that item. Once you have your loyalty points set up the way you prefer, your customers will then receive points when they order from your restaurant. They will also receive free food! (Once they have the points, of course)
The Tría app also lets you create custom coupons for your customers. This gives you yet another excellent marketing resource: You can create a customized coupon—and then post it across your social media platforms. Select an expiration date, how many coupons customers are allowed to redeem, and what type of order is necessary (delivery, curbside, pick up, or dine-in), for the coupon to be redeemed.
QR Code
Because QR codes offer high levels of safety, Tría offers assistance in setting up an active QR code that will take your customers directly to your website or menu. Our ever-changing technological world can be pretty overwhelming at times, but we are here to guide you every step of the way. QR codes provide features that include:
- Contactless Ordering – Once the code is scanned, customers purchase their meals directly from their device, regardless of whether they order from home or dine in your restaurant.
- Paperless Menu – Recent studies show that one way COVID-19 spreads is through contaminated surfaces. Providing a menu QR code can stop contamination, and reduce the need for constant sanitation, which can lead to painful skin conditions such as eczema.
- Marketing – Tabletop tents or banners that contain your QR code, to hang on your outdoor ordering and/or curbside pickup stations. QR codes go a long way!
